Weho's Hidden Gem
My favorite little lunch spot in West Hollywood is Croft Alley. Hidden away behind the buzzing strip of Melrose Place (or through the corridor behind Alfred Coffee) lies an intimate cafe that makes me feel like I’m in Europe.
They don’t have a big menu, but everything they do, they do it right. The chef only uses fresh produce, and you can even see him clipping bits of herbs off the plants they grow to use.
EAT:
You must absolutely get the Tuna Melt. I didn’t even like tomatoes before I tasted this sandwich, so I guess you can call it “life-changing.” The heirloom tomato is melted into the warm gooey fontina cheese, on top of the cool tuna salad, all balanced between warm buttery toasted bread. I could eat it every day. And some weeks I have.
I know I should eventually branch out, but I don’t want to.
Other things to try:
Egg scramble for breakfast- It’s just better than others.
Chlorophyll yogurt- it’s weird and beautiful and delicious.
Bees Knees to drink- I’m addicted.
